Apex Apartments is a rooftop extension that will provide two additional floors on top of a Victorian warehouse in Shoreditch, East London, accommodating space for five apartments. Based on a thorough contextual and planning policy analysis we have developed this scheme that maximises spatial gain whilst respecting its urban setting, winning planning consent by Hackney Council.
The distinguishing element of the extension is a slender steel frame. This relates to the existing facade rhythm and acts as structural exterior or “exoskeleton” for the new floors.
The five apartments range between one and three bedroom units, featuring double aspect orientation and roof terraces.
