Cloud Space

Our Cloud Space installation for the 12th Venice Biennale allows visitors to experience immaterial qualities of space such as air density, humidity, light and temperature, revealing dimensions of architecture beyond the object.

Indoor Cloud

An indoor cloud based on the physical phenomena of saturated air and condensation droplets floats in the Arsenale space. Spanning from wall to wall, the cloud forms a soft ceiling layer at the height of three metres. Visitors experience the crossing of the two metre thick cloud via a ramp with a continuous slope which is installed along the perimeter walls. Guided by an illuminated handrail, they arrive at a platform above.

‘Patalab and UberRaum Ltd. developed the concept of the exhibition as partners of Transsolar.
